Our Story
GbarG Ranch began in 1980s as a small family pear farm rooted in the heart of Lake County. Passed down through generations, our ranch has remained a family- run operation built on hard work, tradition, and a deep connection to the land. Over the years, we've watched our community - along with our neighboring counties of Sonoma and Napa - endure the devastation of wildfires. Seeing family, friends, and local landscapes repeatedly affected inspired us to expand our legacy. Our goat grazing program grew as a natural extension of the pear business, created with one goal in mind: to give back. By reducing brush and supporting fire prevention efforts, we're proud to help protect the land we've called home for more than a century.

Our fully mobile herd allows us to arrive ready to work, with professional fencing, water systems, and handling equipment that streamline setup and minimize downtime. Goats naturally target dense brush, ladder fuels, invasive species, and hard-to-reach terrain- finishing work faster than mechanical methods while requiring no fuel, heavy machinery or chemicals. Because our approach is low-impact and self-sustaining, clients receive fast, reliable vegetation management that saves time, reduces labor, and maximizes results on any size property.

Goat grazing is one of the most environmentally effective land-management strategies available today- and we tailor our services to meet the needs of each property. Our herd delivers thorough and consistent results across vineyards, ranches, steep hillsides, public lands, and sensitive ecosystems. Goats naturally reduce fire hazards, improve soil health, encourage native plant regeneration, and access terrain that machinery cannot. Our herd is 75% goats to 25% sheep to effectively target all forage that one or the other might not like.
